Citybus on Tuesday announced an across-the-board pay rise of 3.6 per cent for all employees.

The bus company said that while the market environment remains challenging and it's facing strong inflationary pressures, it considers its workforce to be a very valuable asset.

Citybus said that despite the difficult operating conditions, it has decided to offer a competitive pay increase to thank its staff for their dedication and to maintain good labour relations.

The firm said it made the decision after considering the views of its employees, adding that the pay rise for frontline staff will come into effect from September 1.

It said that in addition to 24 weeks of fully paid maternity leave and two weeks of fully paid paternity leave, it will introduce additional days off for staff whose children are getting married.
