Hong Kong's stock market ended lower on Tuesday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index down 0.3 percent at 16,647.

Mainland stocks closed higher, with the Shanghai Composite Index up 0.2 percent at 2,867 and the Shenzhen Component Index up 0.8 percent at 8,463. (Xinhua)
