China’s men’s table tennis team of Ma Long, Wang Chuqin and Fan Zhendong on Friday took gold at the Paris Olympics, beating the seventh seeded Swedish team 3-0.

This is the fifth straight gold medal for the men's team at the Olympics.

The three matches between the teams went the distance and went on for more than two and a half hours at the South Paris Arena.

In the opening doubles match, Ma and Wang dropped the opening game against Swedish duo Anton Kallberg and Kristian Karlsson.

But the national team came back strong and won the next two games 11-4 and 11-3.

They lost the fourth game to Sweden 6-11 and took the final game 11-7 to win the match.

Fan, who struck gold in the men’s singles in Paris, took on Sweden’s Truls Moregard in the second match. It went back and forth before Fan pulled through for a 3-2 victory.

World number one paddler Wang started strong in the third match and won the first two games 11-9 and 11-5, before losing the next two to Sweden’s Karlsson.

Wang beat Karlsson 11-2 in the fifth and decisive game, sealing gold for China.
