Chief Executive John Lee said the Hong Kong government will continue to fully and accurately implement the One Country, Two Systems principle and leverage the SAR's strengths to serve the country's needs as he met with the visiting head of the United Front Work Department, Shi Taifeng.

Shi, who's also a Politburo member and vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is in Hong Kong on an inspection visit.

They exchanged views on issues of mutual interest in their meeting at Government House on Monday.

Lee said the SAR government will focus on creating strong impetus for growth, improving its governance system, resolutely implementing the principle of "patriots administering Hong Kong", and strengthening Hong Kong's patriotic forces with a love for the city.

The CE added that the recent third plenary session of the Communist Party offered important guidance for the city's long-term development, prosperity and stability.

He said the Hong Kong government and all sectors of the community should earnestly learn, have a thorough understanding of and implement the spirit of the session.
