Po Lin Monastery says two members of staff have been suspended after being accused of abandoning two dogs.
On Saturday, police arrested two men, aged 46 and 65, on suspicion of cruelty to animals.
The monastery in Ngong Ping, which looks after stray dogs, said staff are still searching for two missing dogs named Dai Mui and Sai Mui.
In a social media post on Tuesday, the monastery said it could not comment further due to the police investigation.
