Hong Kong stocks rose on Thursday, after dovish Federal Reserve minutes and a big downward revision of US payrolls reinforced bets Washington policymakers will cut interest rates in September.

The Hang Seng Index climbed 106 points, or 0.61 percent, to open at 17,497.

The Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.01 percent to open at 2,856, while the Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.06 percent higher at 8,234. (Xinhua/Agencies)
