A man, 25, was arrested on suspicion of theft on Wednesday over a cat that went missing from a temple in Hung Hom.

Nine-year-old Lok Lok disappeared almost a week ago from Pak Tai Temple.

Police said they found him alive and well after raiding a flat in Hung Hom Estate.

"Staff from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were at the scene for inspections, and the cat was in a safe and healthy situation. It did not sustain any apparent injuries," said Inspector Siu Yan-ting from the force's animal crime team.

Siu added that officers would look into whether any offences related to cruelty to animals had been committed.
