Hong Kong stocks closed higher on Friday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index up 0.8 percent at 17,369.

The Shanghai Composite Index ended down 0.5 percent at 2,704, while the Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.9 percent lower at 7,983. (Xinhua)
