HK sharemarket edges lower at open

The Hong Kong share market opened lower on Monday, with the benchmark Hang Seng Index losing 21.16 points, or 0.12 percent, to 18,237.41.

Mainland shares were also lower, with the Shanghai Composite Index down 0.05 percent at 2,735.39, and the Shenzhen Component Index opening 0.04 percent lower at 8,071.99. (Xinhua)
