The police on Monday said they had arrested a man who allegedly attacked a doctor at Pok Oi Hospital in the afternoon.

The 61-year-old man was accompanying his wife, who was awaiting a medical consultation.

Officers said the man was reportedly dissatisfied with the long waiting time and punched a 45-year-old doctor from the Department of Ophthalmology - injuring him in the head, ears and neck.

The hospital said any workplace violence is intolerable and strongly condemned the violent act. It added that it will seriously follow up on the incident, and fully cooperate with the police investigation.
