The leaders of China and India will on Wednesday meet on the sidelines of the Brics summit in the Russian city of Kazan.
It's the first bilateral meeting between President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in five years, which comes just days after the two countries reached a deal on their contested border.
"There will be a bilateral meeting held between Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping... on the sidelines of the Brics summit," senior Indian Foreign Ministry official Vikram Misri said on Tuesday.
On Monday, the two countries reached a deal on the disputed Himalayan frontier in the Ladakh region to end a four-year military stand-off, paving the way for improved political and business ties between the Asian giants. (Agencies)
