Local stocks on Tuesday overcame early losses to finish more than 2 percent higher, thanks partly to fresh confidence towards the Chinese economy.
The Hang Seng Index gained 439 points to 21,006, its highest finish in three weeks.
Most blue chips and tech plays closed higher.
Mainland stocks also did well, finishing at four-week highs, after Premier Li Qiang expressed confidence in the country's economic recovery.
The Shanghai Composite Index put on 2.32 percent to 3,386 and the Shenzhen Component Index climbed 3.22 percent at 11,006. (Agencies)
