Host nation Peru has hailed the 31st edition of the Apec Economic Leaders’ Week a success as the event wrapped up on Saturday.
Speaking to local and international press at the end of the week-long summit, Peruvian President Dina Boluarte said she was honoured to have hosted the leaders of the bloc’s 20 other economies.
She also praised the professional work of her colleagues over the past year, saying it has reaped immense rewards.
That included Peru's signing of a free trade agreement with Hong Kong, and updating the existing one with its biggest trading partner, China.
Boluarte also reiterated three thematic priorities: trade and investment for inclusive and interconnected growth; innovation and digitalisation to promote transition to the formal and global economy; and sustainable growth for resilient development.
She didn't divulge whether a Leaders’ Declaration had been adopted.
The 15-minute press conference ended without a chance for reporters to ask questions.
