The State Council on Saturday appointed principal officials for the new term of the Macau government, who are due to take office on December 20.
Among the five secretaries of the current term of government, two were reappointed - the Secretary for Administration and Justice Cheong Weng-chon and the Secretary for Security Wong Sio-chak.
Tai Kin-ip will serve as the Secretary for Economy and Finance, O Lam will serve as the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, and Tam Wai Man will serve as the Secretary for Transport and Public Works.
The appointments were made in accordance with the Basic Law of the SAR and based on nominations by the chief executive-elect Sam Hou-fai.
The State Council said in a statement that the new administration is an excellent team, and it will lead and unite all sectors to implement the "One Country, Two Systems" principle.
It said it hopes the new term of government can achieve a breakthrough when speeding up the development of the Macau economy.
It added that it hopes the new administration can consolidate Macau's unique status and continue to develop the SAR into an international metropolis, attracting talent and international funds.
Sam will hold a press conference with the newly appointed principal officials on Sunday morning.
