Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 93 points, or 0.46 percent, to open at 20,404 on Wednesday.

Mainland stocks opened lower, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.19 percent at 3,416 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.29 percent lower at 10,781 points. (Xinhua)
