President Xi Jinping will conduct a three-day visit to Macau to attend celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the SAR’s return to the motherland, Xinhua reported on Saturday.
Xi will be in Macau from December 18 to 20.
The president will be "at the inauguration ceremony of the sixth-term government" of Macau, Xinhua reported.
Macau’s chief executive-elect Sam Hou-fai and his cabinet will be sworn in on December 20.
“Xi will also conduct an inspection tour during his stay in the Macau SAR,” the report said.
In a statement, Sam offered his warm welcome and expressed his gratitude to Xi.
He said the president’s visit shows the central government’s support and care towards the SAR.
