A worker was killed in Sheung Shui on Monday after he was struck by falling metal pipes while he was unloading them from a lorry.
Police said the man, in his 70s, was injured at around 10am near Man Kok Village. He was taken to North District Hospital where he was certified dead.
The force said it has classified the case as an industrial accident.
The Labour Department said officers were sent to the scene to investigate what happened.
The Drainage Services Department confirmed that the man was hired by one of its contractors at a temporary storage site.
