President Xi Jinping on Tuesday vowed to promote world peace in New Year's greetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"No matter how the international situation changes, China will remain steadfast in further comprehensively deepening reform and promoting world peace and development," Xi said, according to broadcaster CCTV.
Xinhua news agency quoted Xi as saying that both countries always move forward hand in hand along the right path of non-alliance, non-confrontation, and not targeting any third party.
Xi also said he is ready to maintain close exchanges with Putin and maintain the general direction of China-Russia cooperation.
He noted to Putin that 2024 marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, "representing a new important milestone in the relationship”, CCTV reported.
"After three-quarters of a century of ups and downs, China-Russia relations have become increasingly mature and stable," Xi added. (Agencies)
