Police on Friday said they launched an investigation into a suspected murder case, after a man was found slashed in the back in Tuen Mun.

Officers received a report at about 10pm on Thursday saying a man was found lying unconscious outside the entrance of block seven at Po Tin Estate.

The man, 33, was then rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After initial investigations, the force said they suspect the deceased was attacked by a man with a sharp object, and that he fled afterwards.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to determine the cause of death.

Police also said that a 44-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of misleading police officers during their investigation.

Officers from the Tuen Mun district crime squad are investigating the case, the force added.
