Local stocks end another day lower

Hong Kong stocks ended lower on Tuesday with the benchmark Hang Seng Index down 1.22 percent to close at 19,447 points.

On the mainland, Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.71 percent to 3,229 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.14 percent higher at 9,998. (Xinhua)
