Former lawmaker Chim Pui-chung and his son Ricky Chim will be sentenced on February 3 over a fraud case.
The District Court heard their mitigation on Wednesday.
They were found guilty of conspiracy to defraud more than HK$42 million in transactions linked to a listed company.
The court earlier convicted Chim Pui-chung, who was the largest shareholder of Asia Resources, and his 55-year-old son, who was the chairman, for conspiring with mainland businessman Ma Zhonghong to defraud the company, its board and shareholders between July 2013 and November 2015.
A woman, Wong Poe-lai, was convicted of money laundering in connection with the case.
Chim Pui-chung, 78, submitted more than 10 mitigation letters to the court, including letters from former Legco president Jasper Tsang Yok-sing and former financial secretary John Tsang.
His defence lawyer also said his client is in poor health. He had suffered from throat cancer, heart disease and a stroke.
Judge Ernest Lin adjourned the case to February 3 for sentencing.
All three defendants were remanded in custody until sentencing next month.
