Police on Monday said a worker died after falling from a ladder in Happy Valley.

Officers said the 58-year-old man was on a wooden ladder while he was installing an air-conditioner at a residence on Wilson Road in Jardine’s Lookout.

The worker fell from around 1.5 metres at 10.30 am, injuring his head and passing out.

He was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai, where he was later certified dead.

The Labour Department said it is very concerned about the fatal accident.

Both police and the Labour Department are investigating the cause of the fall.
