Government officials continued visiting residents across 18 districts on Sunday ahead of the Lunar New Year.

Writing on his social media page, deputy chief secretary Warner Cheuk said he visited an elderly woman who lives alone in Tai Kok Tsui and a family that lives in a subdivided unit.

He delivered presents such as fruit baskets, biscuits and panda soft toys, and wished them good health and happiness in the Year of the Snake.

Separately, deputy justice chief Horace Cheung went to Shui Chuen O Estate in Sha Tin.

Accompanied by Sha Tin District Officer Frederick Yu, district councilors and care team members, Cheung said he visited several families in the estate, hoping to learn more about their living conditions and share joy ahead of the festive period.

He added that he’s heard people’s New Year wishes and will continue to work hard.

Home affairs secretary Alice Mak and development chief Bernadette Linn, meanwhile, visited residents in Tuen Mun and Kwai Tsing respectively.

Principal officials will continue visiting different families over the next couple of days.
