Police on Friday said a man has died after falling into the sea near Lamma Island.

Officers received a report at around 11:30am that the man had fallen from a vessel off the coast of the island.

After being rescued, he was airlifted by the Government Flying Service to Eastern Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
