Members of the public are being invited to vote for their favourite taxi driver, with the voting period running until May 31.

The annual Taxi Service Commendation Scheme is co-hosted by the Transport Department and the Committee on Taxi Service Quality.

The department said it had received more than 1 400 nominations for the awards.

Among them, 20 drivers will be awarded the title of Quality Taxi Driver, while two cabbies will receive Good Driver and Good Service awards, based on the combined scores from public voting and professional assessments.

The driver with the most public votes will also be named as the Most Popular Taxi Driver.
