Mainland markets open lower, HK edges up

Mainland stocks opened lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.09 percent at 3,226 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.21 percent lower at 10,142.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index rose 1.89 points to open at 20,598. (Reuters)
