Hong Kong, China team's speed skater Sidney Chu finished fifth in the men's 1,500m final B short track speed skating event, at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin.
The 25-year-old completed the race in two minutes, 32.78 seconds.
Kazakhstan took gold, and Japan got both the silver and bronze.
Chu also participated in the men's 100m speed skating final and came 18th.
The national team topped the podium in that event, with Kazakhstan finishing second, and Republic of Korea bagging bronze.
The SAR's Nicole Law finished 17th in the women's 100m speed skating final.
Meanwhile, the chief executive was in attendance in Harbin, cheering on the SAR and national teams.
Writing on social media, John Lee expressed that he got to watch speed skating and short tracking speed skating at the Games.
He said he was proud to witness the nation's Gao Tingyu clinch gold at the men’s 100m speed skating event and set a new Asian record, finishing the race in 9.35 seconds.
The city's leader also met with some of the SAR's athletes and praised their effort.
I have encouraged them to continue to work hard, he added.
A record number of more than 70 SAR athletes are participating at the Games this year.
