South China on Tuesday won the local top division basketball championship in dramatic fashion.
Guard So Pak-hin made a last-second shot as the Caroliners defeated Winling 81-79 in Game Four, for a three-one series win at the Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai.
South China entered the final period with a 20-point deficit, but they managed to erase it to take a one-point lead with a minute and a half to go.
Bench players led the rally, with Anson Lam scoring 13 points in the final period.
With the scores tied in the final seconds, So, 23, hit a turn around jumper with 0.3 seconds left to seal the classic victory.
The Most Valuable Player of the Finals belonged to guard Kelvin Tsang from South China, who became Hong Kong champions for the third time in the past four seasons.
"I'm so glad we listened to the coach and didn't quit," Tsang told RTHK in a post-game interview.
