Customs officers have arrested a 28-year-old woman on suspicion of carrying the space oil drug in a vape stick.
The woman was taken into custody at the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan after she arrived from Macau on Saturday.
The arrestee, who claimed to be unemployed, has been released on bail.
This marks the department’s first arrest since etomidate - a key ingredient of space oil drug - was included in the Dangerous Drug Ordinance last Friday.
Trafficking or illegal import of such a substance is punishable by a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of HK$5 million
