Police on Friday said they were investigating a traffic accident in Ma On Shan which left a school bus driver dead.

Officers said the 78-year-old man reportedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a railing when he was driving along Kam Ying Road towards Wu Kai Sha at around 6am.

The force said the man showed no visible injuries but fell into a coma. He was pronounced dead at Prince of Wales Hospital.

There were no students or other passengers on the school bus, police added.
