South Africa on Friday concluded the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, after a range of global issues having been discussed.
South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola hailed the event as "historic" when briefing the media after the meeting.
On the final day of the summit, Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated China's support of the free trade system with the World Trade Organization (WTO), and called on the G20 countries to work together to build a just world of common development.
Meanwhile, Wang met his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, on the sidelines of the gathering.
Wang recalled the successful meeting between President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kazan, Russia last year, which set the general direction for the improvement and development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed that China and India, as two ancient civilisations and neighbouring countries, should trust and support each other and help each other succeed. (Reuters/Xinhua)
