A man on Tuesday was sentenced to 14 months in prison for trafficking in a dangerous drug last year.
The 24-year-old man was arrested in November as he was leaving Hong Kong from the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point.
Officers seized about 0.3 grammes of cocaine under the insole of his sneaker.
He was sentenced at the Fanling Magistrates' Courts in contravention of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance.
The Customs and Excise Department welcomed the deterrent sentence, saying it duly reflected the gravity of the offence.
Under the law, the maximum penalty for dangerous drug trafficking upon conviction is a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment.
