Two-time Asian Games gold medallist, Stone Shek, on Friday announced his retirement from gymnastics.
Shek, 33, said on social media that it's been a difficult yet rewarding journey, saying gymnastics has been his life and he would give his career a full score of 10.
He said he learned to grow every day, from all the injuries to different low points in his career.
"If I could choose again, I would choose gymnastics every time," Shek wrote.
"Staying committed to something difficult is hard, but it's the mindset that defines success."
Having taken up gymnastics as a boy, Shek said he has gone through everything after 26 years.
He thanked his family, coaches, friends and supporters for "remembering him as the prince of gymnastics".
Shek won gold at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon on the vault, and successfully defended the title in Jakarta four years later.
He also captured two World Cup gold medals in 2019.
Shek represented Hong Kong, China at three Olympics: London in 2012, Tokyo in 2021 and Paris last year.
