Hong Kong-based singer songwriter Khalil Fong has died at the age of 41, his music label revealed on Saturday.
In a statement, Fu Music said Fong passed away gently and gracefully on February 21 after battling a "relentless illness" for five years.
"The music and graphic novels he gifted to the world remain an eternal testament to his luminous spirit, a timeless treasure for generations to come," it said.
Born in Hawaii and having debuted in 2005, Fong was known for his soul and R&B music.
After releasing his ninth studio album "Journey to the West" in 2016, Fong took a break from his engagements due to health reasons.
He made a comeback last October with his final album "The Dreamer", and said back then he was on the road to recovery.
