The ICAC on Monday said it received 2,058 reports of corruption last year, up three percent from 2023.
The anti-graft body said 480 of the complaints involved government departments, with the police getting the most at 108, followed by the Correctional Services Department with 44 and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department with 40.
Of the 1,438 reports involving the private sector, more than a third concerned building management firms, with the construction industry and finance and insurance companies also seeing scores of complaints.
There were 140 reports involving public bodies, including 25 linked to the Hospital Authority.
The ICAC said it prosecuted 207 people in 2024, including 16 civil servants, and 119 people were convicted.
“The overall corruption situation in Hong Kong still remains very positive. We have not seen any sign of deterioration in terms of rise of corruption in Hong Kong,” said Bernard Chan, chairman of the ICAC's operations review committee.
