Four people were injured and one driver fled the scene following a three-vehicle collision in Shing Mun Tunnel early on Monday morning.
Two private cars and a taxi collided while travelling towards Sha Tin at about 4am.
An online photo showed the taxi had overturned, and significant damage to all three vehicles, including shattered windshields.
Police said the 41-year-old female driver of one private car experienced neck pain, and her 27-year-old male passenger reported pain in the hand. Both were hospitalised.
Also sent to hospital were the 53-year-old taxi driver – who had chest pain – and his 62-year-old passenger, who suffered abrasions to her head.
Police said the driver of the other private car fled the scene.
