A driver, who was behind the wheel of a light goods vehicle travelling along the West Kowloon Highway on Thursday, died after crashing into a fire engine in Tai Kok Tsui.
The fatal accident occurred at about 2pm, near Olympian City.
The driver had initially been stuck in the van, which was severely damaged, before being brought to Kwong Wah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Videos circulating online showed that there was also a white dump truck near the site of the collision.
Media reports said the dump truck had earlier crashed into safety barriers along the road after a bird hit the vehicle's windshield.
They added the light van crashed into the fire engine which was responding to the dump truck driver's call for assistance.
