Conservation officers on Monday captured a masked palm civet, found roaming in the upmarket International Finance Centre mall in Central.
Police said they received reports at around 7 am of a civet on Level 2 of the mall. Pictures on social media showed the animal, appearing relaxed, and walking along a beam not far from an escalator.
Staff from the Fire Services Department, and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department were called in.
The animal was captured at around 9.30am and sent to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden.
