The Observatory cancelled the Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal at 5:15 am, having issued it at 4 am.

It had warned that heavy rain had fallen or was expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 30 millimetres in an hour, and was likely to continue.

The Observatory said there would be flooding in some low-lying and poorly drained areas. It said people who were likely to be affected should take the necessary precautions to reduce their exposure to the risk posed by the heavy rain and flooding.

Heavy rain may bring about flash floods. People should stay away from watercourses.

People who are likely to be affected by flooding should take all necessary precautions to avoid any losses.
