Hong Kong's delegate to the nation's top legislature, Starry Lee, is leaving for Beijing on Saturday for the upcoming National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee meeting.

Lee said at the airport that the Standing Committee would be reviewing more than 10 pieces of legislation, including on "promoting the private economy", arbitration, as well as the prevention and control of infectious diseases.

The private economy promotion legislation is a key societal concern, she added, pointing out that she had gathered views from businesses in various sectors in the SAR for presentation during discussions.

Lee said the legislation has now been submitted for its third review and that she believes the vetting process will be completed soon.

The Standing Committee meeting will be held from Sunday to Wednesday.
