A fire has swept through a restaurant in Liaoning province, killing at least 22.

According to CCTV, the blaze broke out in Baita district in Liaoning City at 12.25pm on Tuesday.

Three others were injured.

President Xi Jinping has called for all-out efforts to treat those injured in the deadly blaze.

He said authorities will try to determine the cause of the tragedy as quickly as possible.

Xi also said with the Labour Day holiday coming up and more people expected to travel, authorities must ensure safety measures are put in place. (Reporting by Xinhua)
