The Kwai Tsing District Health Centre is rescheduling seasonal flu jabs and blood taking appointments, after a hacking incident on Sunday led to the suspension of its outsourced network system.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Health Bureau's Primary Healthcare Commission said the hacked data could include names, membership numbers, dates of birth, residential districts, and the first four identity card digits of people on a vaccination programme.
The commission said it was highly concerned and that it has told the centre's operator, the Kwai Tsing Safe Community and Healthy City Association, to submit a report. It said the hacked system does not have any direct connection with district health centres in other areas and that the government's e-health app was unaffected.
The Police, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, and the Digital Policy Office have been informed. The operator has also called in a cybersecurity expert.
