Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office director Xia Baolong will visit Macau from Thursday to Tuesday.
The six-day trip is made with the aim of better understanding latest developments in Macau's society and economy and the work of its administration.
In a statement, Macau chief executive Sam Hou-fai thanked the central government for its "longstanding care and support" for the SAR.
Sam welcomed Xia's visit and promised that his government would ensure the visit runs smoothly.
Xia, Beijing's top man overseeing Hong Kong and Macau affairs, last visited the casino hub a year ago.
