Police said on Friday a 28-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of bomb hoaxes at Kai Tak Sports Park and misleading police officers.
The arrest was made after officers received five reports on April 27 about suspected bombs at the main stadium, where Hong Kong singer Nicholas Tse's concert was under way with more than 40,000 fans in the audience.
So Chi-bing, chief inspector at Kowloon East regional crime unit, said police conducted thorough searches and found no explosive devices.
Officers believe this is an isolated case.
"Our investigation has confirmed these five bomb reports were false and that this person acted alone," he said.
"The motive is believed to be related to a dispute with others over concert tickets."
So urged the public to buy concert tickets only through official channels to avoid risks and potential data leaks.
The suspect, arrested in Kowloon City on Wednesday, will appear at the Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts on Saturday.
