Police said on Thursday they were investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom in which a man died.
In a statement, police said a private car driven by a 32-year-old man was travelling eastbound along Dyer Avenue.
At 2.57am, when approaching Hung Sing House, Hung Hom Estate, the car reportedly knocked down a 43-year-old man.
The man sustained serious head injuries and was unconscious when he was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was certified dead at 4.47am.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
