Provisional figures released by the Hong Kong Tourism Board on Thursday showed a 13-percent increase in visitor arrivals for April compared to a year ago.
There were a total of 3.8 million arrivals, with those from the mainland, short-haul and long-haul markets all showing double-digit growth.
For the January to April period, there were 16 million visitors – up 10 percent from the same period last year.
The board said growth momentum was sustained across various markets, with the number of visitors from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Indonesia increasing more than 20 percent year on year respectively.
For Australia, significant growth of 30 percent was recorded.
