Two people were killed and one remains missing after a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall hit a village in Guangdong early on Sunday.
Xinhua News Agency reported the landslide occurred around 7am in Pingtougang Village, located in the city of Gaozhou, trapping seven people, according to Gaozhou's emergency management bureau.
Six people were rescued, but two of them died later despite emergency treatment. The other four have been sent to a hospital.
Earlier, heavy rain battered several cities in Guangxi region on Saturday as authorities raised its flood alert to the highest level, according to broadcaster CCTV.
CCTV news footage showed images of waterlogged streets, muddy floodwaters and inundated pig farms in the city of Yulin.
