Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tsing Yi early on Friday in which a Nam Wan Tunnel staff member was killed.
In a statement, the police said the accident occurred at 12.40am when a car driven by a 40-year-old man was travelling along Tsing Sha Highway towards Kowloon.
As the car approached the entrance of Nam Wan Tunnel, it reportedly hit a 61-year-old male tunnel staff.
The man was unconscious as he was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital with serious injuries.
He was pronounced dead at 2.17am.
Police said the driver has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death.
He is being detained to help a special traffic investigation team from New Territories South with its investigation into the incident.
The force also appealed for witnesses to come forward.
