Police on Monday said they had arrested two men suspected of providing illegal ride-hailing services.
Officers pretended to be customers and arrested two drivers aged 49 and 54 after arriving at the arranged destinations.
Two cars were seized as part of the force's investigation, with the men suspected of illegally carrying passengers for hire and not having third party liability insurance.
At a press briefing, inspector Ip Chung-long urged people only to use legal forms of transport.
"When private cars are used for illegal carriage of passengers, its third party liability insurance will lose effect. If any accidents happen, other road users including passengers and pedestrians will lose their entitled protection," Ip said.
