At least 10 people, including a police officer, have been injured in a collision on a motorway near Tuen Mun.
Police told a media briefing later in the evening that the officer fell off Kong Sham Western Highway as he tried to avoid being hit.
He was seriously hurt.
The collision happened at around 5 pm on Friday.
A Citybus is believed to have struck the back of a police vehicle that had stopped along the road to handle a traffic incident.
A taxi was also hit.
The Transport Department said some of the northbound lanes of Kong Sham Western Highway near Ha Tsuen Road were closed because of the crash.
The bus driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.
Police Commissioner Joe Chow arrived at Tuen Mun Hospital to visit the injured officer.
He later told reporters that the force will offer assistance to the officer's family.
Citybus said it's highly concerned about the incident.
"At the moment, Citybus is actively cooperating with the police investigation, and will announce details of the incident as soon as possible," a spokesperson said.
